Mario Vicini was teammate of Giusppe Olmo and Cino Cinelli in but soon left competitions to grab torch and file and by started manufacturing high-quality frames in Cesena, his hometown. Being a small artisan producer, Vicini did not build many bicycles which however became very popular amongst enthusiasts worldwide for their quality and attention to details. By taking a closer look at this Vicini Super Record Classic Road Bike Frame is immediately clear why Vicini bikes are still beloved by collectors from all over the world.
Wear protective gloves throughout the process. If you are working on a frame on it's own you can start by removing the fork, but if you are working on a complete bike then you absolutely must remove all components and cables. This includes the handlebars, stem - literally everything including the bottom bracket.
I also aim to keep in stock some basic parts for fixed gear and track riding — chainsets with bottom brackets to match, suitable pedals, bars etc My main stock is lugged or fillet brazed steel frames, tig-welded ones and even aluminium and carbon-fibre frames too if I think they are interesting. Please note I am closed on Wednesdays and Friday; there will also be times when I am away buying stock. I will endeavour to contact within 48 hours of your enquiry. Our Facebook page — Hilary Stone Cycles is used to give previews of new stock and also showcase customer's restorations.

Vintage Bikes. This road test between a vintage and modern road bike came about entirely by accident. And to be honest, I was pretty astounded at the differences.
Vintage bikes, especially steel racing and track bikes, have always had their fans and collectors. If you consider buying a vintage racer for yourself, make sure you are spending your money on the right one. Some collectors favour nothing but handcrafted bikes that were manufactured only by the dozens to low hundreds. These bikes will probably retain their resale value the best in the long run.
